Creative Time Project Archives: Bill Brand’s Masstransiscope (Launched 1980, restored 2008, viewable today)
Observant straphangers riding B, D, N, or Q subway trains from Brooklyn into Manhattan may have been surprised to see a zoetrope-like animation come to life in the tunnel outside the train’s window (just before the train emerges onto the Manhattan bridge). Read more about the project here.
The MTA has an an excellent online archive of their projects that includes this project. MTA’s Arts for Transit program on Tumblr: http://artsfortransit.tumblr.com/
(We’re excited to break into the 80’s as we add a year of historic Creative Time projects to our Facebook Timeline each day.)

Love!
